Meeting Your Dog or Cat's Nutritional Needs
Based on your companion's age, breed, species, and health status, their dietary needs and preferences can change significantly.
Age is a key factor when determining which foods are optimal for your dog or cat. Meeting all of your puppy or kitten's nutritional requirements can help to ensure good health as they mature. Once your companion reaches their senior years, many age-related conditions can be managed by altering what they eat and when.
We look forward to working with you and your companion to provide a medically supervised, veterinarian-approved nutrition plan to help them stay happy and healthy for many years to come!
The Dietary Counselling Process
We’ll start by conducting a comprehensive physical exam and health analysis to determine your companion's specific nutritional needs.
We may recommend prescription diet products if we feel that they have added benefits for your pet that regular products do not offer.
As our four-legged friends age, their nutritional needs often change, so it's essential to reassess their nutritional needs periodically. We will review your dog or cat's plan from time to time to make sure it is still optimal.
Not all commercially available foods are safe or nutritionally balanced for your pet. Raw food, grain-free, and foods high in peas, chickpeas, and lentils can cause health problems.
Benefits of Nutritional Counselling
Diet can have a profound influence on your companion's health. The assessment process combined with our nutritional counselling helps to ensure that your pet's diet-related health issues are addressed and that any conditions that can be helped with dietary changes are considered.
